A Rainbow Fade Chevron Blanket : A New Crochet Project

The time has come to start a new crochet project! I've been working on several blankets for other people over the past year, and its now such a joy to be working on a blanket that I hope will stay in our home for a long time. My oldest is a huge fan of rainbows and she wants a blanket! After seeing many different styles of stitches she finally figured out exactly what pattern she wanted : the zigzag. We also picked out many different colours from Michaels (Loops and Threads Impeccable & Red Heart Super Savers) to fill the sections of the colour wheel that I was missing. This is our take on the rainbow fade!

I am thrilled to be working on something so colourful and bright during this wintery season. I find that I am reaching for it often because its an easy pattern and I get to add new colours quickly. I am secretly hoping that I have enough yarn to make two blankets, so that both of the girls can have matching, but slightly different afghans. Something to bond them together and think of home when they move out. Yes, I am already thinking of that! Eep!

More photos will come the further along I go, but here is the start. Hooray for fun, colourful projects during this crazy time. xo
