Colour Play : Seasons

I have been trying really hard to keep my eyes open, to pay attention, look up, and to not take for granted the beauty that is around me. I have been inspired by Philippa Stanton's blog 5Ft Inf and her Instagram account recently. I absolutely love how she views the world. Philippa is an amazing artist who loves to be creative with all the senses (looking, listening, smelling, tasting, feeling) and has created the most beautiful way to look at the world around her. She inspires me with her conscious creativity. As I was reading her blog, I was inspired to take action. I wanted so badly to wake up from feeling indifferent to how I lived and saw each day. I wanted to start paying attention to the colours or the smells or the way the leaves rustle in the wind. I challenged myself to stop and listen, to watch as the trees and world changed through-out the fall season. Then Autumn turned into Winter and we have now found ourselves in Spring. I have enjoyed documenting so many of the changes that the girls and I have seen over the past few months. We have been inspired to really look at our neighbourhood. To watch as it changes, to see the beauty that it holds currently. We are definitely still learning to keep our senses open to everything, but this is the kind of project that I love and hope to continue for a very long time.
