Our Japan 06 - Disneyland

Disneyland!! The magical place where dreams come true! I became a little girl again, roaming around the streets and seeing all of the Disney characters come to life. I wouldn't be surprised if I had more fun than my husband and Bug combined. I don't care if I looked like a crazy person with my Duffy ears, grinning from ear-to-ear, dancing and singing along to all of the music. I was in Disneyland Heaven.

I discovered that Bug was the perfect age for Disneyland as well. With her being three-years-old she was old enough to know a bunch of the characters, to get caught up in the excitement of it all, to be able to walk by herself for the majority of the day, potty-trained, and just excited to have fun with mommy & daddy. She did pass out for a brief nap in the early evening, however, we were waiting in line for the last ride of the day, so it was a perfect time for her to rest. DisneySea and Disneyland was such a great part of our family holiday.
Bug found a ladybug friend on the way to admission. Even ladybugs visit Disneyland, I suppose.
Before we even entered the park we realized that people were lining up to hug and take pictures with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Only being able to choose one, we quickly went into the line of Mickey Mouse. It was a very long wait, and we probably ended up waiting for over an hour, however, Disney decided to bless us all by bringing out so many other characters that didn't have lines at all. Husband and I took turns grabbing Bug and running out of the Mickey line so that she could meet Donald Duck, Twiddle Dee & Dum, Piglet, Jimmy Cricket, and many others. This boosted our line moral and got us very excited about the day ahead.
Bug knew who Mickey was before we came on this trip, however, I never expected her to run up to him and give him a hug without us being there with her. I don't know if its because she saw so many other little girls and boys hug Mickey, or if she general was excited, but these photos have to be some of my favourites!
Me spotting Cinderella's castle for the first time. I am wearing my Duffy ears, of course.
We were just in time for the Daytime Parade "Happiness is Here!" Gosh, it was wonderful. So many amazing characters. I find it kind of odd that the only picture that really came out of the entire parade was Genie from Aladdin - one of the husband's favourite movies. haha.
Next thing on our list was to explore Cinderella's castle. What a dream!
Those murals though!!! LOVE!
Bug got to sit on the throne and try on the glass slipper. She felt like a Princess!
First ride of the day was picked by me. I don't know why, but It's A Small World just seems like a classic Disneyland move. I have always wanted to go, and my husband supported my crazy notion. The expression on my face says it all!! Disneyland Heaven, you guys!!
Then I took a million photos of all the Alice in Wonderland statues and gardens!
Olaf was part of another parade that we happened upon! There was just so much to see and to do!
Suppertime!! mmmmmm
After supper we climbed the Swiss Family Treehouse! It was so cool seeing it in the dark and the view of Cinderella's castle was gorgeous! We also witnessed another awesome parade from this view.
We took the nighttime Jungle Cruise and it was so much fun. We got to float around in a river boat and see many "animals" as they played around in the wild. Bug was only slightly scared of the crocodiles, their eyes were glowing though, so I mean, that is kind of freaky. haha.
Our last ride for the day was a Winnie the Pooh ride! Oh gosh it was fun. Bug slept as we waited in line and I loved looking at the ride designs - it was so fun to be able to walk around pages from the book. Bug did say that she was scared of the Hufflelumps, but we bounced around like Tiger and got stuck in honey with Pooh, so in the end it was also her favourite ride. Afterwards we treated ourself to honey flavoured popcorn! Bug loved it.

We walked around the park a little bit more and slowly made our way back to the lockers to gather up our things. Another day gone fast. Our plan was to stick around for the fireworks, but they were cancelled for the evening last minute. A shame, but we will catch them next time I am sure.

Have you, dear readers, been to Disneyland? What was your favourite moment? What was your favourite park? I would love to hear all about it. We now know the magic of it and plan to come back one day, hopefully, very soon.
Japan was amazing. There is so much to see and experience it was honestly the perfect family Holiday. My family and I are hoping to go back there soon to revisit a few places (like DisneySea and the Shinjuku Gyoen) and we want to see all the new. In the future I would love to be able to put together a must-visit places or our top go-to restaurants for this blog for Tokyo and other cities, and so much more. The creative juices are just flowing. I have felt so much excitement being able to put these blog posts together, it makes me want to do it all over again. Immediately.

For now, however, I will be working on my Japanese and doing a lot more research for our next trip. I would love to hear if you have any place recommendations or if there are any books that you recommend that we check out about Japan. Please let me know and leave a comment down below!

Thank you so very much for reading about our Japan vacation. If you missed any of our posts, click here, and it will take you to all of them. I am also still gathering and going through all of our museum photos, so if you are curious about seeing those, let me know and I will post about them another day. xo
