Wind in the Willows Pressed Flower Art

There is something about pressing flowers against pages of a good book that make me extremely happy. A part of me is horrified that I even thought about ripping out pages from a book, while another part is having way too much fun to stop. Rip Rip Rip. I bought the book damaged so that I wouldn't change my mind about tearing it apart.

I like the look of nature on words. Flowers on stories. Petals on adventure. Something about the two paired makes sense to me. I have gotten amazing feedback from my past projects that lets me know I am not the only one who thinks so. This series uses the book Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame and the last of the flowers found this summer.
I also tried something new for this series. Embroidery. Thread needled it way onto the illustrations, highlighting a certain something. Embroidering on paper was a lot harder than I thought it would be, but fun. I would definitely do it again.
