Four Mondays of : D I Y > C H R I S T M A S

It all started with an old day planner. Back in 2012, I purchased the prettiest day planner ever, yet, I never used it. Then 2013 came, and 2014 ... and here we are 2015 and I still have this day planner in my craft supplies. I wanted to use it in a craft project so that its pretty pictures could be seen and loved once more, but I just couldn't figure out what to use it for.

Then I started to make Wind in the Willows Pressed Flower Art. I made eleven art pieces in total and each item has about three - five pages within. That left me with a lot of pages left over than I know needed to use up. I hate wasting paper. Then all of a sudden it came to me; let's make recycled gift tags. A simple idea that would use up the rest of the Wind in the Willows books pages as well as the day planner that I have been holding on to. This was a way that I could show case the illustration in both items while blessing somebody with them this Christmas Season.

All you need are:
- gift tag punchs (we got ours at Michaels)
- scissors
- string
- hole punch
- old book, magazines, day planners, calendars, children's drawings, etc
The above photos are how I created the Wind in the Willows gift tags. Using both illustration, chapter numbers, and words, it is my hope that this kind of tag will be loved by the fellow book lover, nerd, and reader. Below are pictures of my day planner that are a little bit more on the artsy side. I love the colours used in each tag and paired them up with other ones from the planner that complimented each other.
I am very pleased with the way each tag turned out and really think that this would be a fun alternative to the normal Christmas gift tag option. I hope that each tag will compliment that gift that its being paired with so that the receiver enjoys unwrapping all the more. I hope you enjoyed. xoxo.
