DIY Painted Rocks

Today I wanted to share with you a very fun and easy DIY project that Bug and I did a couple of days ago. We are major rock fans in this household. Bug loves seeking out a great rock and bringing it home from the park. I think it is probably one of the cutest things that she does when we are out and about, and I want to encourage her to seek out the things that she finds beautiful.

I was trying to think of a way to display or use them in our house as we now have more than a few scattered throughout. And I thought that even by doing a simple paint job, how much prettier they would look on our bookshelf or in the centre of the table. Note : we wash our rocks before we display or play with them.

After Bug helped me pick out some paint colours, I grabbed some decor tape that I had lying around and I used it to divide up the rock into two parts. I then decided if I wanted to use one or two colours on the specific rock, and I just went nuts. When I was happy with the coverage, I placed each rock on a piece of newspaper to dry. (they dry really fast!) I then took the tape and peeled it off the rock. Some ended up with such a smooth line, while others were a little messy, yet I still think they are lovely. (you can always touch up the lines with a little more paint.)
Thank you so much for reading. I really hope you enjoyed. xoxo
