Four Mondays of : A U T U M N ~ D I Y

I am ready for autumn to hit us full force. To be swept away by chilly winds that blow the leaves freshly fallen from the trees, to smell pumpkin, cloves, cinnamon, and apple pie every chance that I get, to start dressing up in scarves, toques, and light jackets: these are all good things to me.

I know that it may be early, but I cannot help embrace this love of mine. I thought that the next Four Mondays series should embrace everything fall & DIY combined. So here we go. Full force. And if it is still too early for you, dear readers, I hope that this will be something you can bookmark and come back to in a couple of weeks or months.

Today, Bug and I made a Vanilla Pumpkin Pie Sugar Scrub for our feet. Bug is such a little girly girl and loves being pampered. She has already had her toes painted more than I have this year, she loves putting on blush and lip gloss, she loves putting gel in her hair, and she definitely loves wearing dresses. I knew that I wanted to make something that smelled like pumpkin pie, and when I thought of how much Bug loves being pampered, I decided to make a foot scrub.
1 cup Sugar
1/4 cup coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp Pumpkin spice or Pumpkin Pie spice

Mix it all together in a small bowl. You are done! According to the internet, a sugar scrub can last up to eight weeks in the refrigerator. So we are going to try that out.

Once we mixed up the scrub we raced to the bath tub to try it out. Bug loves water, we could have just been getting our toes wet and she would have been willing, so it wasn't too hard to convince her to try out our new handmade product. We rubbed the sugar scrub all over our toes, our feet, and our ankles and, after letting it sit for a couple of minutes, we rinsed it off. Our toes have been dry for a little while now, however, Bug keeps telling me how "sof, sof" (soft) her feet are! I call that a win.
I am so glad that we made this little recipe. I wouldn't be surprised if we did it every day this week. Do be warned though, not only does this scrub smell amazing, it also tastes amazing. Bug called it "foo" (food) and I may have licked the spoon after mixing. Too sweet to eat the whole bowl full in one sitting, but I wouldn't judge you if you did. Enjoy. xoxo
