For the month of July, I gave myself the task of trying something new. It was a way for me to think outside of the box, use my imagination, and just see what happens without insane planning or thought. I decided, while browsing my mother's garden, that I wanted to learn how to make a wreath. Believe it or not, but this is my first time building one. That seems funny to say because for as long as I could remember wreaths were continually built in our household by my mother! Oh, why did I not take advantage and truly learn from her whilst growing up? Sigh.
It was an insane amount of fun. I don't know if I enjoyed cutting the flowers from the garden or crafting the wreath up more. The whole project was delightful and I really wish I had enough supplies to make hundreds of them. I can definitely see why my mom made so many, its addicting. I made two different wreaths; one using oriental sage and one using baby's breathe.
This is what they look like after drying for two weeks. I can definitely say that I should have used far more than what I did. I was fooled by how luscious and full they looked, drying would, of course, make them shrink. This is how one learns though and I am excited to make more soon!
August: Knitting
I love knitting, I miss knitting, I don't take the time to just sit and knit. I say all three things on a daily basis. I have recently added a lot of people on Instagram who love to knit and it makes me miss the craft. So for the month of August I am breaking out my needles and skeins, and whether my project is large or small, I will knit. Would any of you like to knit with me? xo
