DIY Origami Cube

Hello everyone. Today I wanted to create this origami cube DIY for you all. I had so much fun making these for my twinkle lights and was very surprised with how easy they were. I took pictures of each step and I hope that it is very clear for you. Please let me know in the comments below if you found this tutorial helpful.
You will need six pieces of square paper all the same size. They are each one of the sides of the cube. Grab your first piece and lets begin!
First begin by folding your paper in half.
Open it back up and then take the end you just folded and bring it to the middle of your paper.
Do the same to the bottom half.
Now take the rectangle and fold it in half.
Open it back up.
Take the top right hand corner and fold it to the middle line.
Take the bottom left hand corner and fold it to the middle line. You will want to see the picture above.
This is my favourite part. Open up the two corners that you just folded and you will have two little squares in the corner that "magically" have appeared.
Open up the top half of the rectangle and fold in the corner of the square that magically appeared. It should look like the photo above.
Fold down the rectangle and this is what it should look like. Notice the difference between the top and bottom half.
Open up the bottom half of the rectangle and fold in the triangle that was made from the square that magically appeared. Before refolding the rectangle, take the top right corner and fold it back to the middle line. It should look like the picture below.
Refold the bottom half of the rectangle. It should look like the picture above.
This is another fun part. Take the bottom left hand corner and fold it into the pocket that was created by the upper half of the rectangle.
You will want to see this diamond shape as your result.

Turn the diamond upside down.

Take one of the points of the diamond and fold it into the centre.

Do the same to the other side and you will have created a square.

Let go of the ends you just folded and you will have created the shape shown above.
Now you need to repeat this tutorial to all six pieces of paper.
Once you have them all made, grab two and place one of the triangle sides into the pocket of the flat, square side. Like a jigsaw puzzle.
Continue to do this so that you form a square shown in the picture down below.
Grab the other two pieces that are left and insert them onto the sides of the square, fitting them in triangle - square, so that you form a cube.
Hooray!!! You did it! I love this tutorial. I love the look of the multicolour triangles on the side of the cube. I think they would look adorable stacked up on a bookshelf, or on twinkle lights. Also, I just found out today that Bug really enjoys taking them apart just to have me build it back up for her. Regardless of why you make it, I hope you enjoy making them. I would love to see the blocks that you have created, feel free to send me pictures at knottedhome (at) hotmail (dot) com.
