How To Celebrate Your Valentine's Day

Good morning, everyone. Today I wanted to have a little chit chat with you all on the joys and frustrations of Valentine's Day. I know so many people in my life who really do not like Valentine's Day because they don't have someone special to share it with. Trust me, I understand this completely. I have had quite a few years where Valentine's day was nothing more than the horrible reminder that nobody wanted to be my boyfriend. I spent so much time being negative and feeling miserable, I wasted so much of my day being moody. I know that the holiday focuses hugely on the love relationship between couples and sometimes it is hard to ignore that, especially in all of the card stores. However, I like to think about the main theme: Love. Its about love. And I like to think of Valentine's Day as the day we can share love with everyone - not just our significant other. Maybe its because I am a mom and I want to give Bug all the love in the world or maybe its because my parents always bought us gifts for Valentine's Day, but I cannot help in wanting to "use" this holiday differently. Love should be everywhere and for everyone. Even the card stores have valentines for fathers and brothers and friends. Why do we spend so much time hating on this day when we should be sharing with everyone how much we care for them?

This year I am planning on spending quality time with my husband and with Bug, I am going to spend some time with friends, and I am going to spread the kindness with strangers. Even if they don't smile back, I am going to show them that Valentine's Day should be a day for all and not just those with significant others. What do you guys think about my idea? I would love to hear what you think.

Now, without further ado, I have sought out a bunch of wonderful ways and ideas on how to make your day a little better, whether its just for you, for your husband or wife, for your kids, or for your friends. If you have people in your life whom you love, these ideas are for you.
