Let's Get Started :: Undertaking Creativity

Undertaking Creativity - where we can all come together (in cyber form) and make something together. Each month or two, a project will be picked and we will have the entire month to make it!
January: Art Journals

January is here and I am struggling to get my creativity juices going again. I find that after Christmas I usually want to tune out and hibernate for the rest of winter. ha. I am so thrilled that I have decided to start doing a project a month and documenting it on here, because then I am held accountable by you all. I really hope that you guys also feel encouraged to get crafty and I would love, love, love for you to join me in this venture.

For the month of January I thought we would go a little easy on ourselves and our budget (Christmas is always hard on the budget). The idea of using materials I already have to make something new and exciting completely thrills and freaks me out. Art journalling is the topic for January's theme.
There is absolutely tons of freedom. Whether it is decided to draw and write in a sketch book or use a book for inspiration to bring out text or add pictures to - the choice is yours completely. You can use watercolours, pencils, crayons, stamps, textured material, feathers, flowers, beads, ink, magazine, etc.  There are no limits, that is what I love about this project.
I have always wanted to do an art journal. There are a few blogs that I follow that do a couple a month or whenever they are inspired and it always looks so amazing. I love the freedom (and it scares me - what do you mean there are no rules?) I am really hoping that this project will start inspiring me for the entire year.

These pictures are just a few that I found and Pinterest has a huge assortment. I hope that they inspire you as much as they inspire me. Let's get our imaginations going and our creativity out for all to see!

Project: Art journal
Time Frame: the  month of January
Theme Ideas: your mood, the word you picked for 2015, art journal prompts
Supplies Needed: A book or sketch book for base, any tool or material that you love to work with, magazines and other books, fabric, ANYTHING.

And then when you are done, please email a picture to me at knottedhome (at) hotmail (dot) com. Not only would I love to see your work and your creativity, but I would also like to put together a post at the end of the month for all of the results sent in to me.

Thank you so much for reading this and I hope you are as excited as I am.
Let's get busy!! and Have Fun. xoxo
