Our Alberta: Elk Island in September

This was our last camping trip of the year. Sigh. It was a bittersweet weekend. I love this time of year, the leaves changing colour, the smell of fall, the cool breeze. I was happy to be there camping. The only time that I had tears a moment, was when Bug woke up for the umpteenth time in the middle of the night. I hate being cold, so getting out of my sleeping bag, and allowing my body heat to escape = not impressed. I tell you, teething babies, and camping do NOT mix well. Nevertheless, our time was too short, and I am already missing it.
A forgotten sticker.
Isn't that picture moody & wonderful?
Caught - a leaf blown into a spiders web.
A far away view of the lake.
This is my favourite time of year. Look at those leaves. Gorgeous.

These pictures were all taken on our hike aside from the first three, which were taken at our camp site. I am glad we were able to get in a long hike this weekend - 14km. It was so nice. We also got Bug a new carrier, which I have mentioned in my last post, but I failed to take a photograph of it. She loved it. Stayed awake most of the hike, absorbing all. Maybe she will love autumn as much as I do.

We are hoping to do this hike again come winter. Can you say snowshoeing!!? I have never gone before and I am hoping to finally fall in love with a sport during the winter season. I will definitely post about my love (or hatred) of it when the time comes.

Do any of you out there like to camp and hike? Any wonderful places that you would recommend us checking out? I would love to hear about it, please comment down below! xoxo
