Finding the Beauty Wherever You Are

There are days when I forget to simply look around at my surroundings. I get so caught up with the busyness, the struggles, with myself, with whatever that I forget to enjoy whats around me. We live in such a beautiful world that it almost seems shameful to go a day or days on end without actually seeing anything. Why do I do this to myself? Why do I get so caught up in whatever that I forget to take a moment and just breathe. Just relax. Just open my eyes and see.

Being at the end of my pregnancy I am definitely in the "woe is me" zone and the "I don't care about anything or anyone, because I just want my little girl to be here." NO! This is horrible. Yes, I am happy to be exited about the arrival of the love bug, but I cannot just sit and wish and wait and dream and want and pray and hope ... I NEED TO BE. And see. I need to open my eyes and find joy in the moment. In every moment.

I would like to encourage you all, dear readers, during this busy time of Christmas. Whether you are spending your days counting down to Christmas, worrying about buying presents for loved ones, missing those who you haven't seen in days, baking cookies or planning meals for family banquets, or simply waiting for your daughter to be born ... just stop. Take a minute. Take a breather. Look around. See. Take a look at the beautiful wintery scene outside. Take a moment and watch how people interact which each other. Take a moment, find and allow those beautiful things to soak into your memory. Or if you have a camera available, take a picture, take lots of pictures. Find the beauty. Find what fills your soul with gladness and just be. Just see.

Obviously from the pictures above a lot of my joy is found in flowers. I love flowers. I love plants. And then I find weird sculptures that I love as well. It doesn't matter what it is you find, just look, just see, what does your heart like to look at??
