Our Nizwa: the Fort

 The Nizwa Fort.
Local musicians taking a break from singing.
 Rock etching.
 These stairs were huge!
 View of the old fort.
"I'm wishing (I'm wishing) for the one I love, to find me (to find me) today!" He was right beside me the entire time I took this photo.
um every fort and castle should have a room like this!
Cannon balls!!
The Nizwa fort was build in the 1650's and is Oman's most visited touristy spot. It was a wonderful place to visit. I felt like I was in a maze and there were these huge stairs that I thought at first I wouldn't be able to climb (as I am eight months pregnant, you know) but climb them I did. This is the reason why I travel. To visit locations like this. Forget the beach (although the ocean is wonderful), forget laying around and relaxing, lets get out and explore History! I was in my element. And it was 40 degrees out. Whew. But it was wonderful, even if I was sweating bullets. I loved it. There were also local musicians who played for us and it was on my MUST SEE list of Oman, to see this kind of performance. So fabulous. If ever you come to Oman, this is a must see for you! I was also at one point waiting for my husband, who stole my camera, when a friend warned me that I was about to photobomb a picture that some tourists were taking. So photobombed them I did and I just turned and smiled at the camera. Haha, to my surprise I was invited to take more photos with them. I have no idea who they are or where they were from, but I am going to be in ten photographs of their trip to Oman. Life made. :)
