Currently I Am
Reading: the Shack by W. P. Young. I am only on chapter five but so far I am really enjoying his style of writing. I have heard a lot of good things and a lot of bad things about this book so I am excited to finally indulge in it myself and get my own opinion. I am lending it from my Grandma and she is super excited to discuss it with me. There is nothing better than a book that makes people talk.

Feeling Thankful: of all of my family & friends who have been and are so supportive of us. Of us moving away, having a baby, everything. I have been surrounded these last months by amazing people who have made me feel nothing but positive of all of this change. I appreciate that. Especially when I have my "Oh my goodness" days (hormones??) they hold and build me up. Especially my mother. She has been incredible. Supportive. Loving. Helpful. And has given me so many tips and baby things that I feel confident to be a mom!! Thank you, mom!

Watching: I have been introduced to Grey's Anatomy so the last few months I have been absorbed in that. I am only on season five and won't be able to watch any for a while, but that has been wonderful.

Anticipating: actually living and being in Oman. I cannot wait to experience and enjoy being thrust into a culture that will soon be home. I cannot wait to have my own place and space again, to do all of my cooking, to start setting up the nursery, to figure out where all the souks (markets) are, where the craft stores are, enjoy the heat, get a tan and of course see the OCEAN for the first time. I am excited and anticipating this move.

Listening To: so many different artists right now. My favourites at this moment include: Mumford & Sons, Noah & the Whale, Me & the Mrs, the Civil Wars, First Aid Kits, Of Monster & Men. Just to name a few. :)

Working On: my Arabic. The hub and I have been introducing ourselves lately to this language and have been having a lot of fun. We have found a wonderful site online that not only tells us how to say each word, but also shows us how we would write and read each word. Its a lot to take in all at once, but so far it has been fun and so far we have not been that confused. The hardest is remembering what each "symbol" is for each word.

Loving: the fact that there is a little someone growing inside of me. They have been kicking like crazy as if to say "Here I am" and "don't forget about me." It has been such a unique experience and I am trying not to anticipate the future too much so that I can enjoy this little person every moment.

  1. Emily I am so proud of you! You are an awesome young woman and I am so excited for you and will be praying for you and "hub". If you like the Shack, I am reading another book of His called Cross roads and it has me right at the beginning. I consider myself to be so blessed to have you in my life and look forward to hearing/reading about all your wonderful experiences. Especially the delivery of your wonderful little package. God bless you and keep you in His care.

    1. I was going to start reading CrossRoads this summer, but due to my hectic schedule that became quickly out of the question. Wow. I hope you enjoy it. I just finished the Shack last night and I had so many "ah-ha" moments. So beautiful. I miss you. Wish we could talk about the Shack over a cup of tea.
